Alfonso Albacete. The reasons for painting
Under the title Alfonso Albacete. The reasons for painting, the Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art (CAAC) presents a retrospective exhibition of the Andalusian artist with whom he covers his career for more than four decades. An architect by training and a fundamental figure in the Spanish art scene, Alfonso Albacete is one of the main representatives of the innovation of the practice of painting that began in the 70s and continued in the 80s of the XNUMXth century. The present sample has been divided into two large sections that offer a double reading: a chronological one, with a dozen pieces that allow us to appreciate the ways that the artist has to dialogue with the work of other painters; and another subject, which offers a review of its main motives and formulations.

Art and myth. The gods of the Prado
The exhibition Art and myth. The gods of the Prado, allows us to enjoy a selection of fifty works belonging to the Museo Nacional del Prado related, all of them, with the classical mythology and its representation in the history of art. The pieces, among which there are paintings, sculptures and medals, are dated between the XNUMXst century BC and the XNUMXth century and have been gathered by an iconographic criterion, without attending to formal or chronological questions. The set that is now exhibited on an itinerant basis, coinciding with the celebration of the Bicentennial of the art gallery, offers an extensive journey through Greco-Roman mythology and the interpretation that artists of the stature of Zurbarán, Ribera or Rubens have made on some of its well-known scenes. , among others.

Axel Hütte: In anderen Welten
In the exhibition In anderen Welten –In other worlds– Axel Hütte (1951, Essen, Germany) presents studies of different ways of looking at the landscape. These are conceptual images that avoid narrative elements. The works give an impression of timelessness; neither the spatial location and the proportions are unequivocally noticed, so that those who contemplate them can only imagine them. The reproduction of the visible is the basis of the photographs but, through construction and specific light dramaturgy, images of a "hallucinogenic sobriety" emerge. Deciphering them is the challenge and that task offers a space of freedom for individual interpretations.

Disney. The art of storytelling
CaixaForum hosts an attractive exhibition for all audiences after passing through other cities: Disney. The art of storytelling. Through drawings, watercolors, digital prints, production notes and storyboards, among other materials, the exhibition highlights the literary origins and reinterpretations carried out by Mickey Mouse's creative father, Walt Disney (United States, 1901 - 1966), and by his successor teams.

The arctic breaks
La Caixa Social Work raises explore the North Pole aboard his exhibition The Arctic Breaks, with which he aims to raise awareness about the need to care for an ecosystem vital to the survival of our planet. The exhibition looks at what the future of the Earth would be like if the Arctic ice sheet melted, to the point that it would be so different that we could not recognize it.
The exhibition has as its strong point the sensational photographs by Andoni Canela, a prestigious nature photographer who has traveled throughout the Arctic territory and brings us current images. In this way, visitors can discover the role it plays in the global climate, its characteristics and its biodiversity in a fun way and for all audiences.

Identity Structures. The Walther Collection
About 200 photographs make up the exhibition «Structures of Identity. The Walther Collection »presented by the Foto Colectania Foundation, thanks to the main collaboration of the Banco Sabadell Foundation. Among the images chosen from the famous German-American collection, you can see works by great masters such as August Sander, Richard Avedon or Seydou Keïta along with others by contemporary photographers such as Samuel Fosso, Zhang Huan or Guy Tillim. The set, which ranges from the beginning of photography in the 1840s to the present, allows us to observe how photographers from different cultures and historical periods have used portraits to affirm or prosecute social stereotypes around issues of gender, social class or nationality.

Leonardo da Vinci. The faces of the genius
Distributed between two venues, «Leonardo Da Vinci. The Faces of Genius »aims to bring us closer to the life and work of one of the best examples of the archetype of 'Renaissance man'. The exhibition, organized on the occasion of the V centenary of his death, unfolds between the Palacio de las Alhajas and the National Library of Spain, traveling through images, infographics, audiovisual elements and objects, the multiple facets, achievements and failures of the Florentine Leonardo Da Vinci.

LIBERXINA, Pop and new artistic practices, 1966-1971
With LIBERXINA, Pop and New Artistic Practices, 1966-1971, the National Museum of Art of Catalonia begins a series of exhibitions focused on an analytical reading of the Catalan postwar art. This first sample brings us closer to the proposals that were produced in Catalonia during the second half of the sixties of the twentieth century. The collected creations shared the ideals of generational renewal and revolution that broke out in various international centers. It is about a period little defined by historiography, between the decline of informalism and the irruption of the conceptual. It is the moment of the emergence of Pop Art and New Figuration. Pacifism, sexual revolution, criticism of capitalism, unlimited exploration of individual creativity are some of the fundamental challenges that these artists revealed, to which is added resistance to the specific context of Francoism.

Sebastiâo Salgado. Genesis. Street art
Sebastião Salgado. Genesis was born after almost three decades of reflection on the dramas and tragedies of humanity. The project has lasted eight years and in the artist's words it supposes: «a visual ode to majesty and fragility of the Earth; a warning of everything we risk losing. " The first stop was the Galapagos Islands in 2004 and until 2012 the artist has made a total of 32 trips to virgin places in Antarctica, Madagascar, Botswana, the Virunga Park on the triple border between the Congo, Rwanda and Uganda, Alaska, the Colorado plateau in the United States, Siberia and the Amazon jungle, among others.

Tintin and the Moon
With Tintin and the Moon. 50 years since the first manned mission, ”la Caixa” Welfare Projects celebrates the 50th anniversary of the arrival of humans on the Moon and invites us to know what it was like before, during and after this event.
On July 21, 1969, the Moon was reached for the first time with the Apollo XI spacecraft and Neil Armstrong took the first steps on the lunar surface. However, some years before Tintin had advanced in the world of science fiction by the hand of its author, Hergé, with two mythical titles, 'Objective: the Moon' and 'We have stepped on the Moon', which saw the light in form of regular installments in Tintin magazine between March 30, 1950 and December 30, 1953.
