
The Community of Madrid will launch Two Mental Health Day Hospitals for adolescents in Parla and Arganda del Rey, a further step in strengthening the public child and adolescent mental health care network. The announcement was made during an institutional visit to Leganés, where the latest resources added to this healthcare portfolio were evaluated.
With these openings, The regional network will reach 19 devices of this type before the end of the year.In addition, the plan includes two additional centers linked to the Infanta SofÃa Hospital (San Sebastián de los Reyes) and Henares Hospital (Coslada) by 2026, expanding coverage and bringing specialized care to more municipalities.

The regional president visited the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Center at the José Germain University Hospital (Leganés), operational since September following a public investment of €1 million. The building, a landmark in the southern region, has approximately 600 m² and has been designed to foster a friendly and bright environment.

Recent measures include creation of five Day Hospitals, the reinforcement of hospitalization units for adolescents, 14 new home care options and the launch of the Suicide Prevention Plan. For adults with serious mental disorders, occupational therapy has been extended in Psychiatry, and a behavioral addiction center at the Gregorio Marañón Hospital, in coordination with other regional strategies.
